Dear Festival Makers,
We are reaching out to invite you to take part in a short survey developed within the CARE – Culture for Mental Health project, an initiative led by the European Festivals Association and partners across Europe. CARE explores how arts and cultural participation can strengthen mental health and well-being, while fostering more caring, resilient, and connected communities.
Festivals are uniquely placed to shape experiences of belonging, connection, creativity, and collective care. Through this survey, we would like to gather examples of practices, experiments, ideas, questions, and challenges related to arts, health, and well-being within festival contexts.
We are also inviting local and regional authorities to contribute, to highlight partnerships, policies, and funding mechanisms that support the role of arts and culture in well-being at the local level.
The collected material will be developed into a shared catalogue, co-designed by festivals, cities, and regions. It is intended as both:
