20 to 27 June
Southwold Arts Festival was established in 2013. It is run completely by volunteers and is a not for profit CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). The Festival is an eight day celebration of the arts. Performances take place every morning, lunch time, afternoon and evening during the week and comprise of concerts, plays, talks, exhibitions, poetry and literary events. Our patron Emma Freud opens the Festival on Saturday with a Street Festival. The High Street is closed throughout the day and shops and restaurants spill out onto the street alongside, arts and crafts, food and charitable stalls. Children take part in a fancy dress parade to the market place where music, dance and groups perform.
