Cuckfield Book Festival began in 2017 in the village of Cuckfield, West Sussex. It has grown steadily since then and we now welcome about 1800 people over the weekend. It starts with a literary quiz the week before and there is an opening supper in Ockenden Manor on the Friday of the festival with a literary speaker. Over the following two days, we have a mix of authors, workshops, a poetry tea and events for children in various venues in the village. We work closely with local schools, two of which sponsor us. We are a Community Interest Company and funded by ticket sales and local sponsors. With the exception of professional social media assistance, we are entirely run by volunteers. Waterstones are our bookseller and bring all the books to the festival.
