Festival or Organisation description:
Founded in 1948, Swansea International Festival is one of Wales's oldest and most distinguished annual arts celebrations - it's also one of its most exciting, and a centrepiece in the cultural calendar of south west Wales. During the first fortnight of October, Swansea resounds to a rich range of cultural events, as international artists visit the city. There's classical and contemporary music at the magnificent Brangwyn Hall, and the Festival collaborates with other venues, arts organisations, and galleries across the city to deliver a colourful programme of arts events. 2016 highlights will include La Serenissima, the Brodsky Quartet, WeBanjo3, Sinfonia Cymru, the Nidum Ensemble, and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra.
