Eddie Barcan: Director, Splendid Events

Eddie Barcan represents Kate Rusby for festivals and works freelance in Event Management, Programming and Consultancy, specialising in outdoor events and festivals. He programmes the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury and books artists for other festivals including HebCelt, Underneath the Stars and Greenbelt. He is the former Manager and Programmer of 23 consecutive sell-out Cambridge Folk Festivals, managed Cambridge’s annual 5th November Firework Display for close to two decades and worked on the Olympic Torch Relay and Millennium Celebrations. He enjoys event planning, including safety, event control, production and being on the ground as part of teams delivering events.

Alexis Paterson: Chief Executive, Three Choirs Festival

Alexis has been the Chief Executive of the Three Choirs Festival Association since the start of 2016. Before that, she spent five years as the Music Festival Manager at Cheltenham Festivals, where she also helped out on Cheltenham’s Jazz, Science and Literature festivals.  Her previous experience includes working on the concert management team of Presteigne Festival and with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as Education Assistant and Ensembles Coordinator. Immediately prior to arriving in Cheltenham, she combined a variety of freelance work with part time teaching at the universities of Cardiff and Salford. Her undergraduate degree at Exeter University was in Music with Mathematics and her PhD from Cardiff University is in Critical Theory and Musicology.
