Wetherby Arts Festival

3 to 5 September 2021
14 October 2021

It began in 1977.  It was the year of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. The vicar of Wetherby at the time was the Rev Jonathan Bailey. He got together forty organisations.  They judged it a good idea to hold a Festival of Arts. Over forty years later, people still think it a splendid idea to bring the community together and attract people to our town. We still distribute thousands of programmes door-to-door. We still have a box office in town and the performances attract sell-out attendance.

After Covid-19 lockdown we are returning with the most talented artists across Wetherby and neighbouring areas. We’ve been waiting for this since 2019 and now it’s finally nearly here. We are excited to be hosting this year’s Wetherby Festival outdoors in the heart of Wetherby on the Church Street field. This is your opportunity to bring your blankets, picnic baskets and families to lay on the lawn, take the time to relax and enjoy our programme.

We are excited to present two first class touring theatre companies, opera with chips, local professional dancers, musicians from the Leeds Symphony Orchestra, a Wetherby ‘Showcase’ and more! Something different, and something for everyone.

As a late surprise, in October, we will present one of the UK’s best tribute bands to Take That. Not to be missed.

As usual the programme brochure will be issued around the town and surrounding area and, of course, will be available on our website and social media.
