Swansea International Festival

There will not be a 2019 festival.

Set up after World War II, at the same time as Edinburgh Festival, Swansea International Festival is one of the major festival events in Wales. It is well established, respected and has a loyal core audience. It also has a clear purpose: a formal, annual opportunity to celebrate the town and its people. Two years ago we brought in a dynamic new Artistic Director, changed the name from the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts to reflect the new ambitions and, after a period of transition, we feel the Festival is now ready to position itself at the core of the cultural scene in Swansea. Our ambition is to build on the strong foundations and extend its appeal to a wider audience and become part of the fabric of Swansea life. The Festival wants to engage with more of the population of Swansea Bay with relevant, inspiring, diverse content and become the biggest urban festival on the Welsh calendar.
