Festival Dragons

Harriet Roy: General Manager, The Spark Festival

Harriet trained in stage management at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and went on to spend 20 years as Company Stage Manager at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre. After the theatre closed, she went on to freelance as a projects and event manager before eventually joining The Spark Arts for Children in 2007.

In the team of 6 staff, she is responsible for the administration and finances of the company as well as project management. Her main responsibility is the delivery of the Spark Festival, a two week festival of arts for children aged 0-13 in Leicester in May/June. This includes budgeting, planning, contracting, marketing, venue liaision, company management, managing volunteers, scheduling, reporting. 

Sonia Stevenson: Director, Lichfield Festival and St Andrew's Voices

Sonia grew up in St Andrews before taking up a place at St Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh. From there she went on to study music at King’s College London, gaining a BMus and MMus. Sonia has undertaken a number of roles within the arts and currently splits her time as Artistic Director of both Lichfield Festival and St Andrews Voices, which she founded. She is also currently Vice Chair of the British Arts Festivals Association. In the past she worked as Promotion Manager at Faber Music, PA to the conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, Artist Manager at Connaught Artists and Concerts Department Assistant at the Philharmonia Orchestra. She is a keen oboist, singer and dancer.
