Music at Oxford

What is Music at Oxford?

We’re a concert series, embracing a wide range of repertoire and genres to create a year-round series of exciting and high-quality performances. We bring internationally renowned musicians to Oxford, and no one year is ever the same.

We’ve been curating and presenting concerts in Oxford for almost 40 years. Founded in 1983, our vision of bringing exceptional live music to the city continues to this day, and our venues are chosen specifically to suit each concert. You might find a big band in a theatre, a folk group in a bar, a soloist in a college chapel, or a full-size orchestra in the Sheldonian. We aim to provide a platform for new discoveries as well as for more established artists.

We build other events around our concerts, too. Come and be enlightened by some of our talks, or enjoy a meal-deal at one of our chosen restaurant partners. Become a supporter of MaO, and you’ll be invited to social events too.

Music at Oxford has charitable status, and we strive constantly to increase access to live music across the wider community by providing affordable tickets and a range of discounts. Where we can, we work with our performers and other organisations to facilitate outreach and educational opportunities.

Good music is life-enhancing, educational, and entertaining. If you enjoy good music, you will be at home with Music at Oxford.
