The Victorians – Age of Wonder

Portsmouth’s award-winning annual arts festival celebrates the heritage of this historic city and provides opportunities for the community and young people to engage with arts and culture.  Inspired by the 150th anniversary of HMS Warrior 1860, the 2010 Festivities will celebrate The Victorians – Age of Wonder.

From the huge advances in industry and engineering to the opportunities for leisure and recreation, the Festivities will mark this extraordinary period with a diverse programme of events featuring music from the Romantics to the Music Hall; Victorian discovery and exploration; science and engineering; literature, art and architecture; ending with a major participatory event and Twilight spectacle.
